Transition Year

The Transition Year is one option for students wishing to pursue a 3-year Senior cycle.

Its aim is to provide a broad educational experience, leading to increased maturity, before proceeding to the Leaving Certificate.

It helps students to make the transition from the highly-structured Junior cycle environment to one where they will take greater responsibility for their own decisions.
A wide-ranging syllabus has been designed and is reviewed anually to ensure that the programme offered is of the highest standard.

The programme also includes opportunities for work experience, student exchange and/or the opportunity to apply for a Gael Linn scholarship to spend some time in a Gaeltacht all-Irish school.
